Letter Writing BBQ/Block Party – This Sunday April 12, 2015 12-3 PM

The Virginia General Assembly will be reconvening on April 15, so now is the perfect time to make sure that all our elected officials start getting letters from our community pushing for VDOT to Transform 66 within the existing right-of-way. Mark Keam in particular has said he would love to be able to hand Governor Terry McAuliffe a bag of letters from his constituents with our input regarding the project.

But because letter writing is way more fun when you’re not doing it alone, we will be holding a letter writing block party this Sunday, April 12 in the Dunn Loring Swim Club parking lot from 12 pm – 3 pm.  We will provide paper, pens, envelopes, and everything else you could need to make sure that your voice is heard. And because it is supposed to be a beautiful weekend, of course we will also be BBQing and providing refreshments.

The address for the Dunn Loring Swim Club is: 8326 Cottage Street, Vienna, VA 22180

Even if you can’t join us this weekend, please take a couple minutes this weekend to write your elected officials if you can. If you need their contact info or potential talking points, you can find the information (and other updates) here: https://transform66wisely.wordpress.com/what-can-i-do/

We hope to see you soon!

  1. Mark Keam says:

I love this idea! Grassroots organizing and civic engagement in action. I plan on delivering the first batch of all emails and letters I’ve received so far on Wednesday, April 15, when I’ll be in Richmond. I’ll send others afterwards as well, so please continue to send me your letters expressing your concerns in detail. Thank you! Delegate Mark Keam, DelMKeam@house.virginia.gov
